Profiel (Senior) Cost Controller

We currently seek a (Senior) Cost Controller for one of our clients.

The Cost Controller is responsible for the management and reporting of all costs and revenues of project he/she has been allocated.

  • Responsible to establish the first project budget/forecast based on handover bid from Estimating Department and distribute the budget within organization.
  • Responsible for the updates of changes to the budget and forecast based on inputs from project management and other project team members as applicable.
  • Responsible for monthly Project Cost Report and Project Management Report.
  • Preparation of monthly invoices to Client and follow up works. (including reimbursable items).
  • Evaluate the economic impact of changes/variations in scope of work.
  • Identification, creation and invoicing of project change orders.
  • Perform economic analysis, forecasts, deviations report, etc.
  • Update cash forecast per currency. Give input to treasurer in case of hedging.
  • Support identification of Threats and Opportunities and mitigation plan.
  • Review and control of PO commitments, manhours and project expenses.
  • Support procurement in the control of subcontractors /supplier invoices.
  • Give input to finance on cost accruals and manpower forecasts.
  • Contribute to internal and external audits.
  • Increase other Departments’ awareness of the Cost Control function.

Reporting lines and interactions:

  • Functionally reports to Manager Estimating and Cost Control.
  • Operationally reports to part of the project team and report to the Project Manager or Project Director.

Key interactions (internally, externally) :

  • Internally: Financial controllers, Contract Engineer, Planning Engineer, Project manager, Project Procurement Manager / Buyers, Engineering project Manager and Lead Engineers.
  • Externally: Client Cost Engineer or Project Manager in the case of reimbursable contract.

Vereisten (Senior) Cost Controller

Must Have:
  • Degree/ Master in Finance/Business/Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years experience of Cost Control depending on project size and complexity.
  • Experience with large companies and an ERP system.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in the oil and gas industry.

Additional information:

  • Must work collaboratively with all members of the PMT and other Departments within the Company.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently. Someone who is adaptable to change and a fast pace environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to deal effectively with deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and Group Standards.
  • Ability to analyse project risks and anticipate events.
  • Ability to handle several projects are the same time.
  • Priority will be given to the local candidates.
