Senior Explorationist Africa, New Ventures

Client is looking for pioneers for their department New ventures. Their obejctive is to advise the board where to invest in sub saharan Africa.
Candidates need to be pioneers for whom it will be a challenge to do new discoveries. Strong personalities, good communicators, very interested in exploring but also prepared to do data room analysises. Hands on experienced is essential!

• Technical lead for basin and country subsurface evaluations (regional studies, farmins and
licence rounds)
• Attend Data Room Evaluations
• Provide subsurface technical support for evaluation of potential acquisitions
• Ensure high quality G&G evaluations are completed within business critical deadlines
• As a key member of the NV team you will be required to coordinate external and support staff

Candidate will be based in the European home office, and will work on seismic interpretation / analysis etc, in a small (4 fte) team, and will advise the board where to invest, what area's to invest.
Candidate will travel a lot, to do mapping etc.

Bachelor degree in Geology or Geophysics
15 years of broad and relevant experience in operated upstream exploration and development
companies
High motivation and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Significant experience of sub saharan Africa with an emphasis on new venture evaluations
and a track record of success.
Broad knowledge of Exploration Geology and Geophysics
Expert user of industry standard software tools such as 'Petrel', 'Landmark', etc.
Flexibility and willingness to travel
