Manager Naval & Structural Department

• Prepare policies for Technical Development within the Naval & Structural Discipline and Implementation of these policies (upon agreement within the Management Team);
• Prepare man-hour estimates for discipline part in new projects;
• Manage the execution of the discipline part in projects, in part acting as lead engineer;
• Ensure adequate quality and workmanship within his discipline;
• Line manager of all staff in his discipline;
• Interview and select new permanent and temporary staff in accordance with the business plan and project requirements (temporary staff).

• A completed MSc degree in naval architecture;
• Proven experience in design and engineering of ships or maritime projects;
• Minimum 7 years relevant working experience;
• Experience with the naval and structural software;
• Spoken and written command of English and Dutch language.

The larger projects for our client concern the design of special ships or major conversions of naval ships or offshore vessels. The input of our client focuses on the ship as a complete system in which all disciplines play a role. For example, the current project in Malaysia concerns design and engineering of the integration into the ship of a host of new devices and systems including their controls and all electrical wiring on board. On average the team amount to 16 persons. For major contracts in the offshore our client does the constructive design of the interface with anchoring systems. Approximately 1500 tons of new steel is defined by a team of 4 to 8 persons. The Naval Architecture & Structural department has some 15 permanent employees.
